ON TOUR: As far as the eye can see
Touring until 2020
Next Location: Cowra Regional Art Gallery, NSW 21 March – 26 April 2020
Our popular 2016 printmaking exhibition As far as the eye can see commenced a two-year tour of regional galleries across Australia in July 2018. Through the work of twenty-two Australian artists this exhibition celebrates the contemporary topography of both landscape and printmaking. The artists express their individual relationships to the land through a variety of print media, describing both the vast scale and the intimate detail of our diverse natural environment and portraying Australia’s unique and varied geography. The exhibition showcases the artistic vibrancy of the Blue Mountains to national audiences through the work of 7 local artists – Locust Jones, Judith Martinez, Janet Parker-Smith, Julie Paterson, Gary Shinfield, Chris Tobin and Freedom Wilson – whose work is shown alongside artists from every state and territory.
A Blue Mountains City Art Gallery exhibition curated by Rilka Oakley
This exhibition is supported by the Visions regional touring program, an Australian Government program aiming to improve access to cultural material for all Australians.
