PlayLab makers’ space
Friday 10 July
10 am – 12 pm & 1 – 3 pm
Drop-in sessions for families
Bring the whole family for a hands-on art-making adventure! Our PlayLab makers’ space invites kids and grown-ups alike to explore an exciting selection of materials in a free-flowing, imaginative environment. Designed as an open-ended creative hub, PlayLab encourages visitors to experiment, tinker, build, and invent without any pressure to follow specific steps or produce a “finished” artwork. Instead, you will discover new materials, explore textures and colours, and let your curiosity lead the way. We’ll also be reusing and upcycling everyday items you might normally discard, turning ‘waste’ into creative possibilities.
You and your family are welcome to drop-in and create at your own pace. BMCC staff: Jo (Community Team), Liz (BM Library) & Erin (Waste) will be on hand to offer guidance, share ideas, and help spark inspiration. Whether you’re layering paper, constructing with salvaged waste materials, drawing big expressive lines, or mixing mediums in new ways, this space supports creativity in all forms. Parents and carers are expected to stay and create together with their children.
The PlayLab is a place where all ages can connect through making, imagination, and joyful experimentation, remember to bring your curiosity and a willingness to play.
Extra info: This is a drop-in space, capacity will be managed on the day.
