Undercover parking (access via Parke St) is available below the Cultural Centre, which also provides elevator access. The Cultural Centre is located on level 1.

By Train

Trains arrive at Katoomba Station every hour, and we are only a short journey from the station on foot or bike via Katoomba St or Parke St. We’re directly alongside the Carrington Hotel (you can’t miss the giant smokestack).

Accessibility

For disability vehicles or small mini buses please contact us on 4780 5410 prior to your visit to have the bollards removed from the College Lane corner. From this location wheelchair ramps and banisters can be used to gain access to be building.
There are accessible parking spaces available within the Cultural Centre building (accessed via Parke Street) underneath Coles Supermarkets. There is also lift access to the Cultural Centre from the two parking levels.

The semblance of things: portraits by Nick Stathopoulos

The semblance of things is a comprehensive survey of Nick Stathopoulos’ portraits from the past 30 years documenting the evolution of his hyper-real style. The artist delves beneath the painted surface to reveal psychological insights into the subject, beyond the superficial likeness often expected of portraiture. As well as the curated selection of portraits, the exhibition includes archival photographs, sketchbooks, and video clips. Subjects include celebrities Isla Fisher, David Stratton, Barry Crocker, Shaun Tan, Grahame Bond (Aunty Jack), Mr. Squiggle, and many more. This is the first time these portraits have been exhibited together, with works ranging in scale from the blockbuster Archibald finalists to more intimate and personal work.
