Entanglements of Earth: Gregory Crocetti and Linda Seiffert

9 Aug – 21 Sep

Entanglements of Earth celebrates the complex, symbiotic relationship between microbes and their biogeochemical processes within the soils and sediments across Earth. Featuring ceramic and glass sculptures made collaboratively between ceramic artist Linda Seiffert and microbial ecologist Dr. Gregory Crocetti.

The central figure within the exhibition is a living sculpture; part-clay, mud, and glass. Utilising the self-sustaining microbial ecosystems developed by 19th Century Russian-Ukrainian scientist, Sergei Winogradsky, Entanglements of Earth seeks to challenge our assumptions of the boundaries between living and non-living, nature and culture, and the human and non-human.
