Undercover parking (access via Parke St) is available below the Cultural Centre, which also provides elevator access. The Cultural Centre is located on level 1.

By Train

Trains arrive at Katoomba Station every hour, and we are only a short journey from the station on foot or bike via Katoomba St or Parke St. We’re directly alongside the Carrington Hotel (you can’t miss the giant smokestack).

Accessibility

For disability vehicles or small mini buses please contact us on 4780 5410 prior to your visit to have the bollards removed from the College Lane corner. From this location wheelchair ramps and banisters can be used to gain access to be building.
There are accessible parking spaces available within the Cultural Centre building (accessed via Parke Street) underneath Coles Supermarkets. There is also lift access to the Cultural Centre from the two parking levels.

The Dobell Drawing Prize is Australia’s leading prize for drawing, and an unparalleled celebration of technique, innovation and expanded practice. Presented at the National Art School in partnership with the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation, this biennial exhibition continues to highlight the enduring relevance and changing role of drawing within contemporary art practice. The winning work enters the National Art School’s significant collection, built over the past 120 years.

The 24th edition was curated by Lucy Latella and showcased the work of 64 finalists at the National Art School Gallery, selected from 965 nationwide entries by judging panel Vernon Ah Kee, Dr Yolunda Hickman and Paula Latos-Valier AM. The works, through various media, consider a range of themes including domesticity and community, environmental care, and the impacts of colonisation and climate change. The 24th Dobell Drawing Prize touring exhibition shows a selection of 42 finalists works for the regional tour.
