Tracing the line
22 October – 4 December 2016
Tracing the Line is a selection of fifty works from the Print Council of Australia’s collection of over 500 Australian prints. The Print Council of Australia started a commissioned print award in 1967 and has been collecting Australian prints ever since. Tracing the Line celebrates the diversity of print practice within Australia by tracking the last fifty years of print practice, highlighting the inclusion of new techniques and processes into the printmaking repertoire as well as recognising the continued skill and commitment printmakers have for traditional print processes. Artists such as John Coleing, Janet Dawson, Barbara Hanrahan, Michael Kempson, Maria Kozak, Bea Maddock, Judy Watson and Fred Williams are among the fifty represented. This exhibition is also the NSW launch of the 2016 commissioned prints.
