As the weather gets warmer the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre is keeping its doors open on selected Friday evenings to feature spectacular concerts, a twilight Wollemi Artisan Market, trivia and live music. Midsummer Nights is a great way to enjoy the artwork in the Gallery as they come to life in a new way. Come and enjoy drinks and canapés after work whilst you watch a magnificent sunset on our Viewing Platform and enjoy the evenings’ entertainment.

All ticketed events include entry into the City Art Gallery. Bookings are essential at Reception or 4780 5410.

Please note, Midsummer Nights is not suitable for children.

THE STEVE HUNTER TRIO – SEATED CONCERT 

26 FEBRUARY 2016, 6PM – 8PM

Renowned nationally and internationally, Steve Hunter has been a virtuoso bass player, band leader and prolific composer for over 20 years. Joining Steve for his Blue Mountains performance are two of Australia’s most in-demand musicians; guitarist Ben Hauptmann and Australia’s most recorded drummer Andrew Gander. Performing music mostly composed by Steve, the trio’s music draws from Jazz, Funk, Latin and other musical traditions.

ACADEMY SINGERS – SEATED CONCERT

Academy Singers presents The Arafura, featuring choral music from five centuries, starting with one of the greatest Renaissance composers, Giovanni Palestrina and finishing with a recent work, The Arafura. This piece, by Australian composer Dan Walker includes both English and Indigenous text and celebrates the landscape of northern Australia. The concert also includes performances by a string quartet.

TWILIGHT WOLLEMI ARTISAN MARKET

Join us for a special Twilight Wollemi Artisan Market featuring live music, delicious food, twinkling fairy lights and a range of stalls from designers, artists and food producers from the Blue Mountains, Sydney and West of the Divide. It is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a relaxing evening finding unique artisan Christmas gifts, perfectly wrapped and ready to place under the tree.

Test your knowledge of pop culture, heroes and villains, art, local trivia and the Cultural Centre. Join us for a fun evening of trivia with great prizes to be won and live music by Ultimate Saxes! Ultimate Saxes is a riveting saxophone quartet that incorporates the skill and style of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Swing, Jazz, Classical and Modern music. Their infectious dynamism is sure to get the feet tapping.
