Drawing Light investigates the significance of light as a determining characteristic of the Australian landscape. The tradition of portraying landscape through light, is redefined in this exhibition by the artist, whose focus is not on representing light, but rather utilising it as an essential artistic material. Through a combination of installation, lighting and painting Deray creates a fictive space in the Blue Mountains City Art Gallery, encouraging visitors to re-imagine their own concepts of the Australian landscape.
