Discover the art of bookmaking and the artist book. In this course, learn skills in how to make handmade books/journals and to work on a self-directed artwork from an existing book – the deconstructed and altered book process. Over the course of the 3 days the students will acquire skills in book-binding. Then, through the process of experimentation be able to explore ideas in the realm of the artist book though the deconstruction of an existing book to create a finished work of art.
$220/$200 InSight Members. Includes materials, morning & afternoon tea. Please bring 1 – 2 books that you would like to deconstruct/alter for the class. Bookings essential at Reception or 4780 5410.
