2 DAY PANORAMIC SILK SCREEN WORKSHOP WITH FREEDOM WILSON
Sat 12 November, 12:30pm – 3:30pm & Sat 19 November, 10:30am – 2:00pm
On day 1, experiment with mark making design techniques using black gouache on paper to create a positive panoramic print image. This design will then be sent to Sydney to be photographed onto a silkscreen. On day 2, using your new silkscreen, experiment with printing works onto multiple surfaces – stonehenge printmaking paper, industrial felt fabric and MDF wood. Your silk screen can be taken home to reuse to continue your screen printing practice.
$256/$230 InSight Members. Includes all materials. Please feel free to bring in images of a panoramic view that you are fond of as inspiration for your silkscreen design on day 1.

1 DAY LookDrawPrint WORKSHOP WITH JULIE PATERSON
Sat 26 November, 10:30am – 3:30pm
Julie Paterson, the woman of Cloth, has been drawing on the local landscape as inspiration for her textile designs for over 20 years. And now she has simplified her methods and created a workshop. She calls it LookDrawPrint, an imperfect workshop for the creatively curious. The process is dynamic, playful and productive. Over the course of a day you’ll explore creative mindfulness, embrace chance and imperfection, producing your own unique prototype design directly onto fabric. Beginners are encouraged because deep down we all know that creativity is a state of mind before it becomes a skill.
$125/$112.50 InSight Members. Includes all materials.

3 DAY BOOK MAKING WORKSHOP WITH JANET PARKER-SMITH
Thu 8 – Sat 10 December, 10:30am – 3:30pm
Discover the art of bookmaking and the artist book. In this course, learn skills in how to make handmade books/journals and to work on a self-directed artwork from an existing book – the deconstructed and altered book process. Over the course of the 3 days the students will acquire skills in book-binding. Then, through the process of experimentation be able to explore ideas in the realm of the artist book though the deconstruction of an existing book to create a finished work of art.
$220/$200 InSight Members. Includes materials, morning & afternoon tea. Please bring 1 – 2 books that you would like to deconstruct/alter for the class.

Bookings essential for all events at Blue Mountains Cultural Centre Reception or 4780 5410.
