Produce a diverse body of work as you learn how to use three different printmaking mediums: Etching, where you will develop tone as well as line – Silkscreen, where you will build images with layers of colour and the choice of woodcut or lino for Relief printing. The course is designed to encourage experimentation and gives the opportunity to explore how your work is shaped and transformed in response to each medium. This course will introduce the beginner to a range of methods and materials. For the more practised printmaker this course will offer extension with woodcut relief printing as well as discovering how you can combine more than one kind of printmaking in individual artworks. Please note water-based inks will be used and when etching, students will be using nontoxic etching solutions, non-rosen based aquatint and inks that safely clean up in water.
Materials are included. Please bring an apron and closed in shoes.
