Learn to use colour with confidence and flair and inject more colour into your painting. Drawing on historical colour theories, you will learn accurate colour mixing, the mechanisms of optical colour mixing, layered painting techniques and colour abstraction. Dare to explore and experiment with colour to develop your personal sense of expression in this technically focused course. All techniques are taught in a simple, step-by-step approach to help you achieve your aims. The course is suited to people wanting to work in acrylic and oil paints. Some basic painting experience is required, using any painting medium.
About Kristel Smits:
Kristel Smits is a landscape artist with a focus on colour as an expression of mood. Kristel holds a Master of Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts (University of NSW). In 2012 she undertook an artist residency at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam funded by the Australia Council for the Arts. She also teaches at the University of NSW Art & Design and at the National Art School in Sydney.
